Our FUTURO for San Nicolas

  • Develop San Nicolas into the historical, cultural and artistic capital through mentorship and funding on initiatives within the Orange Economy;
  • After school programs which will focus on arts in the center of San Nicolas;
  • Introduce an activity center for the elderly in San Nicolas;
  • Restore and repurpose (adapt) empty/abandoned buildings for housing and the promotion of arts, culture and history;
  • Start an economic development on the 100.000 m2 refinery lot, from Nicolaas Store all the way to the sea;
  • Assess the refinery tanks to be used for oil storage by international companies;
  • Dismantle the refinery structure and sanitize the area;
  • Tax incentives for commercial building renovation in the Main Street of San Nicolas;
  • Construction of a yacht harbor;
  • Revamp the ‘red light district’;
  • Establish a fund with financial institutions for the renovation of buildings;
  • Completion of the project “Revitalization San Nicolas” Phase 1;
  • Construction of a terminal for the fast ferry between Aruba, Curaçao and Bonaire;
  • Construction of a commercial harbor to serve the region including, Curaçao, Bonaire, Suriname, Colombia and the Dominican Republic;
  • Construction of a Farmers’ market;
  • Investing in ALL neighborhoods of San Nicolas with, among others; restoring/ building more sport facilities;
